11 Aug Exploring Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic
What Happens in the Arctic Doesn’t Stay in the Arctic
Friday September 27 2pm, Paonia Library
As a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, Delta High School science teacher Ben Graves was invited to be part of an Arctic expedition to Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic Islands. Throughout this voyage, he enjoyed exciting moments with polar bears, narwhals and walruses and experienced firsthand the dramatically changing landscape of the Arctic. Upon returning, his goal is to connect this experience with his students and community here in Western Colorado. Despite being thousands of miles away, we have a profound connection to the Arctic.
Come hear a unique perspective about the rapidly changing Arctic through stories, videos and pictures and discuss the stewardship actions we can take here in Colorado! Join us in Paonia Library’s Community Room on Friday, September 27, at 2pm for an inspiring multi-media program by dynamic presenter Ben Graves. Happy Harvest!
