Create a three-legged wooden stool while learning the basics of working with local wood rather than standardized dimensional lumber. Working with hardwood and fruitwood harvested in western Colorado, you’ll cover: harvesting and processing wood pieces, stripping bark with a draw-shave, techniques for adjusting the final appearance based on different layers of bark, preparing a live-edge piece for the stool top, joining the legs to the top, and sanding and finishing the piece using natural oils and resins. At the end of the, you’ll go home with a unique 3-legged stool made from all-local wood and finished with natural oils.
